Women make up about 50% of Bihar’s population with significant contribution to its growth and development. Though Bihar lacked the focus and intent towards empowering women.The state is also developing a state policy for empowerment of women for bringing all piece meal effort of other departments under one umbrella to be coordinated under the leadership of WDC,the nodal agency for implementing programes on women empowerment,Dept.of Social Welfare.
